A word from the chairman

I am very pleased that our parish has initiated and is maintaining a Web site, to make information available on the wide range of facilities, organisations and businesses in our village. Several events and projects have been undertaken to celebrate the Millennium. These include the major extension to Snells Hall (with Millennium Commission funding), the opening of the Penney Playpark in Snells and the production of a record of the village and its people in the year 2000.	We plan to add the highlights from this record onto the Web site in due course, to provide an overview of our village at the turn of the century. The Council is very grateful to the Hendred Stores for initiating the Web site and to David and Sam Pentin for taking over as webmasters, with responsibility for updating and maintaining the site. We expect that there will be continuing interest in this facility. Dr.John Sharp (Chairman) October 2000	Council meetings are held in Snells Hall at 8pm on the second Tuesday of each month. An open forum where parishioners can raise questions starts at around 8.30 pm.
